Australian Wild Birds
Images of Australian birds by John Stirling
The site is still under construction - lots of photos still to come and quite a few already on the site need to be removed or reworked.
Since writing the previous sentence over a year ago, I've come to realise that the site will always be under consruction. New species will be added to the site as long as I continue to have the strength to go out and photograph them, and hopefully the quality will be able to be raised a notch or two as well.
Sequence and Taxonomy follows IOC (International Ornithological Congress) V6.3, July 2016.
Photographs:Most images were taken with the equipment listed below. However, some of the earlier ones were taken with a Canon EOS 50D combined with a Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM lens and Canon Extenders EF 1.4x II and EF 2x II.
Earlier still, there are a dozen or so images digiscoped using a Canon PowerShot S60 attached to a Swarovski ATS 80 HD spotting 'scope with 20-60x Eyepiece.
