Australian Wild Birds
Images of Australian birds by John Stirling

About
The site is still under construction - lots of photos still to come and quite a few already on the site need to be removed or reworked.
Since writing the previous sentence several years ago, I've come to realise that the site will always be under construction. New species will be added to the site as long as I continue to have the strength to go out and photograph them, and hopefully the quality will be able to be raised a notch or two as well.
Sequence and Taxonomy follows IOC (International Ornithological Congress) V6.3, July 2016.
Photographs:
Most images were taken with the equipment listed below. However, some of the earlier ones were taken with a Canon EOS 50D and Canon EOS 7D combined with a Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM lens and Canon Extenders EF 1.4x II and EF 2x II.Earlier still, there are a dozen or so images digiscoped using a Canon PowerShot S60 attached to a Swarovski ATS 80 HD spotting 'scope with 20-60x Eyepiece.
Software used is primarily Adobe Lightroom Classic with some improvements provided by Adobe Photoshop, Topaz Denoise AI, Topaz Sharpen AI, and Corel PaintShop Pro.
